The missing Stud in my life

Finally I have found a supplier of brass studs, perfectly ideal for the bag and its a slightly emotional moment : hard work does pay off guys
priced at 13.30 for 100, one can hardly say no.

Meeting with Berni and Linda from Central St Martins!!

This week Shurla and myself (Kyle) Went to see what Berni & Linda from CSM thought of Shurla's design and they loved it!, the final few questions that we had where answered and we are pretty much ready now to go ahead with a sample!

Monday Meeting...

The main body of the bag will be material very similar to this....

We like the base colour of this but ours will be darker,
we have settled on the materials now and are just finalising detail and sourcing everything.....

OUR BAG HAS ZERO LEATHER, LEATHERETTE IS JUST A SLEEK BUT HAS A LOT LESS GUILT. Cows donate milk guys isnt that enough ?

Look at her just hanging there waiting, for someone to give her a new home. The tassles on this bad boy (Huh?)  are gorg light weight, made from a suede like fabric with gold clip detailing.

Leatherette : Kind to animals and cheaper then genuine Cow !!

Cheaper versions are avaliable in and around brick lane, dalston market etc. This is where we will soucre from.

Lining Fabric Samples

The final desicion was the poly cotton sample priced at £2.10 we have decided to look else where for the same mix.

This fabric chosen has a nice texture, but is very light and would need to be doubled over to risk splitting.

Please not that the lining used in the handbag will be brown.

This design so vintage, warm earthly tones are popular choices in hand bags in this autumn 2011



This is the inverse of the fabric chosen for the majority of the bag, look how pretty it is and that’s just the back ;)



Cross Cross Pattern has a vintage look and texture This fabric was chosen because it is strong, durable and gorgeuos. Also hard to notice stains, from snacks or drink spillages we have all encountered. Both sides are attractive its just as shame there is currently no inversed version.

So far we have shown you designs and even fabrics for the lap bag, however you have yet to be informed on the laptop sleeve within the bag. So here’s some info !!

An oil-resistant synthetic rubber: used chiefly in paints, putties, linings for tanks and chemical apparatus, and in crepe soles for shoes.

This fabric has many uses and one of the latest is fabric for laptop Sleeves; Its water-proof, soft, and has a little padding, lightweight and most are machine washable if not can be washed by hand. (We love our laptops and they’re cute but sometimes accidents happen washing is important; some of the reasons for its popularity among laptop accessory designs at present.

Lets Get Wet ? huh

Neoprene is used for both laptop sleeves and wet suits. How crazy is that ? i guess it makes sense, laptops do suffer water damage every now and again. But this is a clever innovation non the less

How it will work

A long awaiting, visual concept has arrived. This hand bag contains a removable laptop sleeping bag that we have placed inside, to represent how our design would work.
For the final design the sleeping bag will be of the same fabric that the bag is.
The sleeping bag will be detachable as shown below.

The laptop Sleeve is removable, and the final sleeve will match the bag design. The sleeve will slot into a pocket which is located in the center of the bag leaving room for other important items such as makeup, mobile phone and erm uni books :)

The laptop bag shown in the image is fitted for a 13" laptop a common size of laptop amoung young female university students.
